Ga-m57-sli-s4 motherboard emitting a hissing noise

I've already narrowed down that the noise is emitting from the botherboard. My question is if there is anything else besides a capacitor that could be making a noise, or is that about there anything else it could be? Help is appreciated, thanks.

I would say you hit it on the head 95% of the time it is a capacitor.

I agree that it is most likely a capacitor but it is easy enough to trace the exact area of emination by using a drinking straw or other small pipe put to your ear to pinpoint it. It is possible that it is a coil also.

Oh, yea, I'm looking at a close up image of the capacitors online and I definately can see that they are completely flat. There's 4 on my motherboard that are near each other that are slightly swelled up. I just find it odd that the swelling is precisely the same on everyone though. One other thing, I'm looking at an image of my motherboard online and am not seeing any coils anywhere. Where are they usually located?

Bump, do you all motherboards have coils on them. I'm not seeing one on mine. thanks.

Often nowadays they don't even look like coils as they are encapsulated and look just like little square boxes.  To be honest I am not sure where they are on modern motherboards but they always used to be around the CPU area along with the VRMs etc.
