GA-A55M-S2HP and 1600MHz Ram

I have just built a new system using the following:

GA-A55M-S2HP motherboard (Bios Ver. F4)
AMD A6 3500 APU
8GB Corsair Vengeance Ram

My problem is the bios automatically detects the ram as only 1333MHz and when I try to set it manually as 1600Mhz it will not boot and reverts to the 1333MHz speed.

Does anyone know if this a know problem and is there a work around?

Download cpuz and see what timings the ram reports and make sure timings are set correctly. Also the voltage is set at manufacture recommened.
As you didnt provide a link to the ram so i can see exact specs is all i can tell you. You have also left so little information on your specs like what OS, programs, overclock on processor or not and so on that you probably wont get very many helpful post.

Hi

Your memory is supposed to be able to run at 1600mhz according to the specs so my first idea would be to run Memtest86+ on it to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the sticks that you have.

Please follow these instructions exactly.

I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of  Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.

Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all  modules.
 
If you have any errors the module is faulty.

If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.

Post back when you have done that with the results.

I managed to sort it out.

The first time I tried it I just entered MB Intelligent tweaker and set the memory clock for to get 1600Mhz and saved the settings .
On rebooting it failed and reloaded the bios with a speed of 1300.

I had another go and this time I also went into dram configuration and set DDR3 timing items to manual as well.  This time it worked and has been running at 1600Mhz for over two weeks without issues.

Yes the majority of 1600 ram runs at 9-9-9-25  For some reason if i reset bios it always deafults to 1333 and 11-11-11-32 is odd but as you say doing it manually isnt that hard.
