Bios settings and connection of SSD ga-x58a-ud5 Rev 1

I have tested this week a little 64 Gb SSD card ( mSata PCIe )  with the correct adapter mSata PCIe <-> sata

The SSD is detected no problem connected to all ports ( INTEL , Marvell , JMicron ) i can mirroring my OS but

If i connect to the INTEL ICH connector i have some problems

1 - at BIOS start i have some time a messge similar to : Smart Command Failed ??

2 - with the default bios values i cannot sart the SSD / OS : lect err ( i think cannot read the SSD )

i have tested with some BIOS , and modified

Finally i have found a solution after a long time for find the good BIOS values and run fine but :

I have reinstalled the last BIOS and my fault i have flashed with Reset BIOS Defaults Values and i have the same err lect error and at this time i have not found a quick good solution


Question : Have you also this problem and found the good values in BIOS ?

Sorry for your problem...

Have you remember ... what is your modifications you have made in BIOS... you said :

Triy optimisez default... in main page Bios... + your good BIOS values... if you remember...

The best : make a clear CMOS before and after change (flash) a Bios...

That is the problem ... in default mode i have the problem after ...

I made the modfications in the BIOS a bit random so that i can not remember anything !!!

I hate when I do that; then I'll have to do everything again only writing it down that time.  (If I'd only just did that the first time...)

I'd like to help but I really don't know what the problem is.  Can you state, precisely, what's wrong?  (Equipment involved/connectivity, what occurs, what should occur, specific error messages...)

  Good to hear from you F5BJR .... and a new mobo I see! .... In the X58 series, I have found one invaluable trick when trouble shooting a difficult drive HD or SSD..........remove everything else as far as drives go so only the drive in question will be recognized by the BIOS ..... reset the BIOS to "Optimized Defaults" and reconfigure for the boot.....save and reboot .... this will give you the best chance of getting past the error message you have been getting..... if you get this far , start adding a piece at a time untill all 32 drives are back on line

If you are using Intel AHCI or RAID, plus the PCIE card SSD maybe disable Marvell controller or set both Marvell and Intel to IDE.

I think it's BIOS memory space issue right?   Like we would have with Highpoint cards and Intel RAID enabled, is it similar to that

  Lsdmeasap .......F5BJR didn't post an "Option ROM Error" but it could very well be ..... I had a little nightmare getting my HighPoint 640 to play ball with lots of drives to contend with..... turning off the boot option on the card worked but is a pig to get too..... good pickup
