Reset button problem

Hi there,

i have this problem, but i've figured out, when it happens.
When Windows freeze , all i can do is reset or power off.
If i press reset button, and while restarting, system message me , that cpu voltage was changed and bios starts to back up to it's default settings.
So, if i have F9 version, it puts back to F4 and i must update bios again.
I don't have overclocked or anything in bios.
Just happens if i press reset button, not if i power off and back on, works normally, also if windows freeze and i power off and back on,
everything went fine, but with reset button no more, i mean this warning message appears.

Maybe someone had similar problem.
It's not such a big deal, all i must do ,. is to be carefull not to press reset button on computer's case, but power off.

Don't use the reset button, just use power button, it's a known issue in P67/Z68

As for your BIOS always setting back to F4, please update to the latest BIOS for your motherboard using Qflash or DOS, then go into the BIOS and load optimized defaults and save/apply/reboot BACK to the BIOS, when you get back into the BIOS set your SATA settings to what you need and then anything else you need adjusted such as memory voltage, ect.  

Then then flash your backup BIOS to match your main BIOS, here's how to do that (And sometimes you need to use a PS/2 keyboard)

Anytime, I'm always happy to help!

The reset may be better in later BIOSes, but it's still best to avoid it when possible.  You'll have to test it out and see if it's any better on this last BIOS or not, it may be a little better now as I know they were working on the issue.

No, it was not better, i've already have F9 installed, thru gigabyte windows utility,
but anyway, it was the same with reset button.

What motherboard do you have?  That may not be the latest BIOS, there is a recent round of beta BIOSes that fix bootup issues, so that could help with this possible, but maybe not since it's mainly reset button issues not bootup issues.

As Lsdmeasap pointed out make sure that after you have finished setting it all up that you then synchronise the two BIOS versions so that even if it does decide to load the Backup BIOS it will be the same exactly.

Do it this way if you need any pointers:

From a cold start with the power to the machine switched off press the power button and then enter the BIOS by pressing Del. Then when you get to the main screen press F9. This will bring up an extra screen which will display more information about the two BIOS versions. Assuming they are different exit the BIOS and shutdown. Again press the power button and this time press Alt + F12 where you would normally use the Del key to enter the BIOS. You will fiond that then your monitor will turn black and you will see:

Press [Enter] to start copying main BIOS to backup BIOS...

When you press Enter more text will appear saying:

Writing BIOS image.... xxxKb OK

Once completed  more text will show:

BIOS successfully recovered! Power off or reset system!

Do as it says. Both Main and Backup BIOS chips now store the same BIOS version. You can now reboot as normal.
