GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 USB Disconnects In Game
« on: February 22, 2012, 01:23:30 am »
I searched all over and so far to no avail of the solution hopefully someone on the forums can assist.

Every time I play a video game (ie tf2 or bf3) my mouse and keyboard would frequently disconnect and reconnect again. Sometimes I would have to even replug it into a different USB slot (either back or front) in order for it to function and even then it is spotty. I have tried different mices and keyboard same problems... I even reformatted to a fresh build of Win 7... All drivers and Bios updated to latest I am stumped

Setup:

Win 7 Prem
Logitech G500
Dell USB OEM keyboard
Nvidia 560 TI DS GPU
Crucial M4 SSD
i5 2500k (stock)
GSkill RipJawsX Blue 8GB Ram
750 Antec Neo PSU
CoolerMaster EcoX Cooler

Thanks so much for reading this and helping out

Did you flash the backup BIOS to match the main?  If not, here's how and you may need to use a PS/2 keyboard or USB to PS/2 adapter
http://gigabytedaily.blogspot.com/2011/02/video-guide-how-to-update-your-backup.html

Also be sure you are using the latest drivers from Intel, sometimes Gigabyte's site is behind (And the install CD is definitely always behind) :D

INF Chipset drivers (you want the first link- EXE)
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=816

AHCI/RAID Drivers (You want the third link)
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Rapid+Storage+Technology

Have you tested your memory to ensure it's not a memory issue?  If so, or not, please test with this latest version of Memtest86+ 4.20, run at least 5-10 full passes, or overnight while you sleep

Hi

After you have taken Lsdmeasap's advice double check all your USB settings in the BIOS. Make sure that USB3.0 Turbo is disabled and if you are not using it I would also disable ESATA3.

Awesome guys, Thanks so much for the responses! I will follow all Lsdmeasap's advice and then Dark Mantis and finally update the BIOS to the BETA Bios that ex58 suggested.

I had problems when it occured on the F4 Bios Version and then updated the bios to the F9 and the error still occured. I will update the status once I troubleshoot my system when I get off work.

Hey everyone, I have tried all the methods listed above but the error is still occurring. every time I play a game the mouse/keyboard would both disconnected. I am stumped...

Could it be that I have a bad Mobo and I would have to RMA it ?

Perhaps you could try the keyboard and mouse on the usb 3.0 ports to see if that helps the problem.
There are also newer Etron USB 3.0 version 109 drivers available which may also be worth a try

I fixed the problem, after testing all the and finding nothing wrong I figured it might have been something regarding windows interfering with the mouse.

For anyone else that may have a problem similar to this this was the solution:

In Windows Task Manager: Set KHALMNPR.exe (Logitech software) and right click it and set as high priority.

Thanks to everyone that replied and helped out!
