GA-970A-UD3, Win8 64 and Easy Tune6 throws errors, causes restarts

I have Rev 1.2 this mobo, F7 bios, 32G of Corsair PC3-12800 memory, an FX-6100 black edition CPU.  Win 8 64 bit.  Running "stock" it is nicely solid and runs fine. Throws no errors, event logs normal.  On my MB download page, East Tune6 B12.1018.1 shows up as OK with Win8 64. But when I run it at Quick Boost 1 setting (CPU 4 GHz, FSB 200) I get pointer errors and the system randomly restarts. It ran about 40 degrees C at this setting (it runs about 25 degrees C stock) but no overheating.

Not sure if this is just not working with Win8 or if there is something odd about my system or this tool.  But it's annoying :)   My old PC had an Asus MB and a Turbo utility that tweaked the CPU in a brain dead manner for some extra oomph; I'm assuming this Easy Tune6 would do the same.  Really not wanting to get all geeky about timings and such, just push the CPU in a known yet safe manner above stock.

Appreciate any advice; the potential for some oomph is irresistible.

Best way to tune up your cpu is thru bios. Using a program can cause errors like easy tune besides windows 8 being the newest and worst O.S. yet it might be something inside of windows that is throwing the errors.
Seems like when ever you get the newest and latest tech you do run into problems if easy tune isnt working for you try to do it thru bios itself that way when puter starts it is at your o.c. already and doesnt have to wait for windows to load the program on start up b4 the o.c. takes effect.

Best guess is give it time for windows to mature a little or for easy tune to get an update.

Excellent points, given I can use the program as a guide for workable settings.  Never too old to learn, or give it time for programs like Easy Tune6 to mature for new OS.

If you want to know workable bios settings download cpuz it will give you the timings on ram and what they can safely be put to. It also tells you your cpu speed and clock value as in X18 and so on. I like it because it tells me my bios version and motherboard make and so on. Small program with alot of good features. Wont O.C. for you though but lets you see what to change in bios.

Another thing i do when o.c. is disable any powersaving features in bios they will always mess things up.
