PROBLEM WITH MOUSE LED
« on: March 18, 2012, 07:26:06 pm »
I have a gigabyte usb3 rev 2.0 mobo and a razer abyssus mouse with LED light. The problem is when I shutdown my computer, the mouse LED stays on and will not go off. I checked the bios and found that mouse/keyboard awake on LAN was disabled by default. In windows 7, I set the mouse's power management to disable "Allow this device to wake the computer."

I did all that but the mouse light still stays on. How can I fix this?

Hi and welcome.

You cannot unless you actually remove the plug from the mains socket as it is a feature of most modern power supplies and Gigabyte also uses it to enable charging of certain USB connected components when the computer is turned off.

Alrighty then. I guess I'll just put something over the light.

I've done a test for you last night as my Razer Deathadder does this, even when I was using my GA-MA770-UD3 board (which doesn't have USB charging as far as Im aware - it didn't work on my phones anyway)

Anyway what I done was went into the Razer Deatheradder Program (for some strange reason called Razer DeathAdder Driver - I suspect yours will be called something similar), and simply disabled the scroll wheel from turning on. You could just set this to another profile so when you go to bed, all you have to do is change the profile.

If you don't have that program/driver then you can get it from here: http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=170 Just make sure you select the correct version for your mouse by checking the label at the bottom (there seems to be two versions of your mouse).
