Should i RMA my motherboard?

To start off the post here is my system specs then i will go into the details

Intel Core i7 860
Gigabyte P55-US3L Rev 2.0
4GB Corsair Dominator (CMD4GX3M2A1600C8)
MSI GTX470 Twin Frozr II
640GB Samsung Spinpoint F1
850W Coolermaster Silent Pro M
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Motherboard was purchased 4th June 2010 so im not 100% certain if i'm still under warranty

now for my problem

Sometimes when i turn on computer it will post but will then just go to a black screen and wont respond till i shut down by holding power button.
I'm also having problems with the computer randomly hard locking whenever i go to do something like when flash content is played or i open a game. I'm aware that there isn't a problem with my graphics cards or ram as i have tested them in other systems with perfect results. The PSU is also brand new and has no problems as thats been tested aswell. When the system hard locks i have to restart the computer via power button and when i get back into windows there isn't any form of error so it cant be a driver conflict. I've updated every single driver and have reinstalled nvidia driver multiple times.

I think that problem may lie with either a faulty ram slot or pci-e but can't be certain about it.
Its possible that the motherboard simply doesn't have full compatibilty for 400 series cards but thats just a guess.

Please help me if you can

Hi mate, all Gigabyte motherboards come with a 3 year warranty starting from date of manufacture so fine for the warranty.  I've RMA's my board twice in the last 12 months & on both occasions got the board back within 3 days of me posting it.

Besides arranging RMA, you might want to include a detailed explanation of the issues you are having to ensure RMA understand what the fault is.

Other than paying for shipping to GBT (I paid £5.60 1st class recorded) you've not really got anything to lose.  My board was gradually dying & it wasn't until it totally crapped out that I finally got my backside in gear & sorted out an RMA.

Well the first thing I would suggest is to update your BIOS to the latest version available using QFlash. Make sure that you untick the Keep DMI Data on the QFlash homepage. After that clear the CMOS overnight by removing the battery after unplugging aznd pressing the start button to purge any power.
