« on: March 26, 2012, 10:34:51 pm »
hi  all of you gentlemen , greedings from Greece
here's my problem , just right now my PC works just fine but , if i restart for some reason , or shut it down ,  takes me  2 ,3 ,4 10 even 15
restarts to get in win7(64bit) . post normally and when shows "starting windows" just shutdown most of time,  or freeze  in that screen for 2 or 3 minutes and then shutdown.  as you see my motherboard is a P55A-UD5 , ssd Intel 40gb sata2(works in sata2_0) - WB 1002 faex black sata3 (works in sata 2_1)- blueray drive (sata2_4) - dvdrw(sata2_3) - memory 6GB corsair XMS3 - sapphire HD6850 - i5 650 - PS corsair 700w.Bios  is F13b and of cource all the latest drivers.  Is something wrong with the ssd? is the P55?
can i remove ssd and install Win7 on Wb in sata 3 mode? and how?
please help , just affraid to turn off my PC.
thanks for advance

This may not be the cause or fix to the issues, but please try these things.

One, on the Standard CMOS page of the BIOS, at the bottom, disable Floppy A

Then move your CD/DVD and Blue Ray to SATA@-4 and SATA2_5

You do not want to use SATA3 6Gb/s for your OS on this board, those ports are unstable, especially for OS on SSD.  And Intel SATA2 ports are faster overall anyway

If the above does not help, please remove 2GB of memory, so you have 4GB dual channel, and see if that helps.  6GB is not ideal on P55, so this could be part of the issue too.

Hi

Even though your power supply is a decent make it is possible that could be the root of the problem too.

I would suggest checking the easiest things first though. How long is it since you  did a clean instal of Windows ?

hi Dark Mantis ,
yes i had try P.S with nothing but the ssd , it's the same.  my OS is xdark 4.7 64bit  new clen install but with all this problem , it takes me about 4 hours.
before i try the new install , i had reset BIOS , clear CMOS , set again BIOS to F13b update , set to AHCI mode , but..... nothing.
i try also another copy of win 7 ultimate , one performance edition of wi7.....nothing . it drives me crazy

Did you try what I suggested above yet?  If not please try those things.   Also, try a normal, un-edited version of windows 7 and see if you have the same issues.
