Memory Issues on GA 78LMT S2P

Help & Suggestions needed I'm running GA 78LMT S2P MB and Patriot Viper Extreme PX34G1333C9 2x4gb, the problem> when I have only 1 stick ram in either slot system runs fine, its only when I put both sticks ram in, I get random BSOD on startup with random stop errors.

I've run memtest86 on both sticks together with no errors and one at a time in both slot with no errors.

My bios is set to default settings, auto. memory clock shows x6.66 1333mhz,timings 9 9 9 24  I ran cpuz and it shows memory tab dram frequency at 669.5mhz clocks 9.0 9 9 24 33 not sure how reliable cpuz readings are it also shows in the MB tab that I have a 780G chip but I think this board has a 760G chip.

Patriot Viper Extreme PX34G1333C9 is available in 8GB kits and 4GB single DIMMs. It appears the part number for the 8GB kit is PX34G1333C9 Bundle Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB Memory Bundle - 1333MHz CL9 PX34G1333C9 x2. The 4GB single DIMM is number: PX34G1333C9.

The problem is combining two single DIMMs to make PX34G1333C9 2x4gb has never been tested together and they are not guaranteed to work together. If you bought a 8GB Memory Bundle then the kit has been tested and is guaranteed to work together. By mixing two 4GB single DIMMs together, there may be compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications. If you have problems mixing sets, it is suggested to manually lower the frequency of the memory.

Thanks for reply and Info. Tiger the 2 DIMMs are single sticks, not bundled, I was hoping I could get it stable using both sticks by adjustments the bios just not sure how to go about it, I've never done any type of overclocking before, not sure where and what settings need to be changed to lower the frequency and what if anything else needs to change to get it more stable.

From searching I see where some settings need to be lowered some put higher to accomplish this not sure if that applies to this MB
I would appreciate, If you, or anyone could give me instructions or point me to the information to accomplish this on this MB.

Hi Vezina  thanks for the help its set to 2T, I've also tried changing DQS training to enabled that didn't help set back to skip, what I can't understand is the only time I get stop errors is when I'm powering on, I don't get any when restarting or after its up and running.

If it does stuff only at start up then maybe the power supply is the problem.

You could also add some more voltage in BIOS to the RAM and see what happens.
If the memory is not low voltage you can pump the voltage to 1,65V from 1,5V in steps and see what happens.

I have had issues when installing 2 working RAM sticks when the RAM sticks were not matched properly from the factory.

Update -Hi Verina tried different PS and bumped the settings to no avail  Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions, maybe this info. will help anyone with same issues
 I’m thinking Tiger may  have it right about not being a compatible matched kit being the issue.

Seeing the system runs great with only 1 stick without errors, with default settings, and seeing this MB has no way of setting each  memory slot independently, I’m just going to wait for a deal on a MB compatible memory kit.

Yep ,nothing you can do when the sticks are unmatched.
I would go for Crucial RAM with AMD .
Avoid the RAM sticks that have the XMP profile as this ones are build with Intel in mind usually thus probable compatibility issues /instability on the long term usage.
I would also go for low voltage RAM chip based sticks.They work nice and cool with low voltage(1,35V) ,but compatibility from the mobo might be required to boot.
