Hi

I would advise not relying on the QVL on Gigabyte's website for compatibility but using the memory manufacturer's own list that will be on their website. Usually this is more up to date and will have many more options listed. If it is OCZ that you want to use try their search engine here:

OCZ: http://www.ocztechnology.com/search.html?q=memory&go=S

I have a couple of questions,

How much of this ram are you wanting to put on the board.......4 modules?

What operating system are you using?

Why settle for this memory and not some other like 2x2gb of 8500mhz (1066) modules like corsair for eg? That will be fast enough and you will not see any difference from running the other ram except say in running benchmarks where you may get a slightly better score.

In my experience, occupying 4 dimm slots with OCZ on a Gigabyte board was FAIL! I currently have 4x1gb of the OCZ 9200 Flex XLC 5-5-5-18 OCZ2FX11502GK sitting here doing nothing in my cupboard. http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr2-pc2-9200-flexxlc-edition-eol.html

I found that I could occupy 3 slots and worked fine, (this was on a GA-X48-DQ6 board, truth be told I have not tried this on any other board other than the DQ6) but that 4th slot failed to boot even after raising voltages etc. No matter how I moved the dimms around, I could not get the 4 to boot! Now I know the each module is flawless but alas.........i went 4gb of this http://www.futurelooks.com/corsair-dominator-4gb-pc2-8500-ram-kit-review/ and never looked back..

However If your hell bent on getting the OCZ modules why not try the 9200? I'm open to offers as I no longer have a need for it.........And you can water cool them!  :P
