Dual monitors BSOD

Dual monitors BSOD
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:22:12 pm »
Hi. I get bsod very often - like every 10-15 minutes with dual monitors setup (hdmi + vga) because of atikmpag.sys error. With only one hdmi connected screen I do not get that bsod. I have ga-a75-d3h with radeon HD 6550d.

Hi

I must admit that I don't know what is causing this problem but I would suggest doing the obvious things like making sure that the firmware and drivers are all up to date for the graphics card.

That is a common ati driver error. Install driversweeper to desktop the uninstall all ati graphics drivers , restart in safe mode then use driver sweeper to clean the rest of ati graphics drivers out and restart again and reinstall graphics drivers.
2.  Have seen many others get rid of the ERROR simply by disabling 'Hardware Acceleration' settings in Flash Player and Youtube
3.  If it still gives BSOD, try to boot with a single stick of RAM. Try each of them all if there is a faulty stick in the group
4. Make sure you get your newest drivers from amd/ati driver site. This error was supposed to be fixed in CCC ver. 12

Thanks guys, it works! ;)
I did have the latest AMD drivers. I tried updating BIOS although I might already have the latest version (not sure). I used driversweeper as well and then installed old AMD driver that came with the motherboard (from 2011). Now, I'm not sure which of these measures did the job but at least it works now!  ::)
