Ga-X58A-Ud3r Ver 1.0 Mb 6GB Triple channel DDR 3 memory.
Running Windows Xp 32 bit Opsys.
I have been noticing more recently a hang or freeze of functionality like failing to scroll or typing stops when the HDD is being written to. I often have to wait for it to stop then all functions return. This issue prompted me to look for latest Bios but have been told this is not possible as current Bios is special for this board to stop noise is not in later dated Bios's. (Subject of another Post)
As the Intel Processor is a Quad core I7-930 I did not expect the HDD write process to be a major bottle neck. What else can be the cause and can I tweak anything to help it.
I expected one core to handle HDD whilst others were free to operate on other functions or do you have to set this up.?
