Crossfire with 970A-D3

So if you have read my previous posts you should have noticed that I bought a new motherboard, the 970A-D3. It has been serving me great with no issues at all, and I notice that their are 2 PCIe slots on it. One is 16x and the other is 4x I know that since they are different bandwidths that the card running in 4x might not run at its full capacity but, is it possible to link then together even with different bandwidths? You can use a CrossFire Bridge Interconnect Cable to link them together.

I have found that doing crossfire is great used it for years but since your 2nd card is at 4x i would just buy a single card thats top of the line or closer if you crossfire 2 x 150. card then just get a 300. card and you will be better off period.

To go even further than autotech about the use of two cards as opposed to one you always get a loss over the performance of using more than one card when in dual mode. Two cards always have an overhead that is wasted performance. If two cards are coupled together ie 2 x 100% doesn't equal 200% but probably nearer 170% and even worse in a three card setup.

Thanks all, i think ill stick to single card configurations, just seems to much of a hassle to crossfire, with having to buy a new PSU and the loss of what my money was worth. Thanks for answering -Simon
