I've been trying to determine, with difficulty, if switching to a computer case where my GTX 580 Windforce edition would be oriented vertically is going to affect its cooling performance significantly. Certain cases have good bottom-to-top airflow and a 90-degree rotated motherboard layout, thus changing the conventional horizontal orientation of a graphics card to a vertical one, with the back panel being at the top.
Am I going to see significantly higher temperatures if I mount my card this way, or is it going to be a fairly negligible difference, given also that the airflow is very good in that case, with positive air pressure (Silverstone FT02/RV02)?
