GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev. 1.0) new Bios problem
« on: July 23, 2012, 08:15:17 am »
I own GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev. 1.0).Yesterday I installed the new U1g(UEFI BIOS) from a flash drive without any problem, but when I try to enter the Bios and change settings the screen freezes and I have to restart again.I cleared the CMOS from the motherboard or loaded the best configuration from the Bios menu but still the same. The Bios menu page freezes.Any ideas?

Reinstalled Bios but still the same.Bios set up screen loads partially and then freezes and I have to restart.Hopefully my system works but I cannot make any Bios modifications.Has anyone with GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev. 1.0)  has installed the new Bios?

I removed all usb devices and it worked. Two usb devices are causing a conflict that freezes Bios.It never happened before.

Hi

Well at least you have found the cause of the problem. Some USB drives can be a bit troublesome where the BIOS is concerned. It might be that a new update will be able to fix this though.

Apomet - Have you noticed any performance or other major changes in upgrading to UEFI? Does it seem to get through POST any quicker?
