Hi folks,
I have just bought this motherboard, and I set it up with a Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 16GB (4X4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Quad Channel kit (PV316G213C1QK) as I've had good experiences with Patriot kits in the past. Now the motherboard's info says it supports kits up to 2133MHz and XMP profiles. However, the Patriot kit will only run at the board's default setting of 1600MHz - if I set the BIOS to use the XMP profile, the computer will not POST and I have to clear the CMOS. Is it just a matter of waiting for Gigabyte to improve memory support with BIOS updates (I understand this is a new board and may have some teething problems) or is there something more serious going on and would I be better off seeing if I can swap the kit out for a differnt one maybe from a different manufacturer like Corsair? Do any of you folks have this board and had similar problems, or could recommend a fast kit that has worked fine for you with XMP enabled?
Many thanks for your time, any help much appreciated.
