58A-UD7 - Front Panel Issues

58A-UD7 - Front Panel Issues
« on: December 08, 2009, 08:55:25 am »
Having issues with UD7 on F3a, F3c and also F2 (needs confirmation).

When MIC or Phones inserted into Front Panel jacks, realtek software goes mental with the dialog box to confirm which device was connected popping up and down very very quickly.

If I quickly remove the jacks and reinsert them several times, it seems to work... audio and MIC work.

Is this firmware, software or wiring...

Any ideas appreciated...

This was working in this case with my old UD5

Have you tried disabling front panel detection?

In the realtek HD audio manager there should be a folder icon which says 'connection settings' when hovered over with the mouse. Click on that then tick the box which says disable front panel detection

There is also another tick box, something about disabling popup message. Try unticking that.

If you type msconfig into the run box, then go to the startup tab - untick anything related to realtek, apply and restart. That should sort you out as it will compleatly remove it from the startup. It just means if you want to make any changes to the realtek driver, you will just have to find the icon on the all programs list.

i'll try it.. but windows 7 was doing it.. looking in audio devices you could see if flicking back and forth between the 1st and last audio device
