On Point 2 - The idea of Smart Response is that you can virtually strap an SSD onto the back of a regular hard disk. To be honest, you'd be better leaving them as separate drives, and putting Windows 7 onto your SSD, and then the rest of your programs onto your other drive(s).
I have:
1 x 60gb SSD for Windows 7 and a FEW games
4 x 500gb regular hard disks for the rest of my programs, music, documents, backups etc...
