Title: X58A-UD3R Turbo Problem?
Post by: F1aw1ess on February 24, 2012, 10:59:26 am
Hey,

I have an X58A-UD3R v1.0 on BIOS F7 and have a problem with booting sometimes.

My overclock is set to 181 x 21 = 3800mhz, when its working okay the first boot screen shows this and it all fires up fine.

On an occasion though sometimes I see the processor say its @ 3.62ghz which is obviously 181 x 20 eg no Turbo and system gets stuck in a BIOS bootloop not even getting to see the windows loading screen, the moment I see the processor speed on the very first screen it reboots.

The only way I can get round this is to pull the power adaptor out of the back and when I put it back in and start it again my original 3.80ghz comes up and its perfectly fine again.

Wondered if anyone can shed any light on why its doing this?

Could be a BIOS issue and I would probably try the F8b BIOS to see if that improves things. You can get the F8b BIOS from TweakTown here: http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios.html
