Title: GIGABYTE Z170X-Ultra Gaming BIOS Problem On Two MB
Post by: dzigi on December 16, 2016, 08:11:24 am
Hello guys, I have issues with the Z170 Ultra Gaming MB, to be more precise on TWO of the same MB after updating to the latest BIOS ( F20 )
On one machine I have the MB paired with i5 6600k and on the other with a i7 6700k
The problem isn't isolated because it happened on the two PC's after updating and I can't go back to the older BIOS because it isn't allowed.
I cleared the BIOS and re-flashed it, still the same on both of them also I did a fresh win10 install on both of them and downloaded the latest drivers.
Anyway the problems stayed and are as following.
-The System information Viewer, I use it for fan control because the UEFI one is a bit wonky and doesn't ramp up/down the fans fast enough and after waking up from sleep on both of them the CPU temp's are locked at 127C but on other monitoring software the temp's are 30ish and the cpu fan is locked @ 70% and I have to reboot the machines and than everything is OK, the problem occurs the next time the PC's are put to sleep for at least an hour or so.
-When the above mentioned problem happens the CPU Temp Sensor data is missing on Aida And HW Monitor and I'm able to see the CPU Package Temps and the individual core temps.
A side note, I had this same issue with an older GB MB with FM2+ And and 7850k and with a BIOS update the issue was resolved.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

PS. I use Cooler Master Nepton 120XL AIO water cooling on both of them and the radiator fan is hooked up to CPU fan header and the pump is hooked up to CPU OPT with voltage control.
And the XMP Led on the MB doesn't light up when XMP profile is used, it worked on the previous BIOS versions on both of  the PC's.
