Hi

I am afraid that you failed to list the most important device which is the power supply. Can you post the make and model of PSU please ?
All the rest of the hardware would help to to get a general feel of the system.

Thanks. How old is it ? I am asking as the problem would seem to be a power issue and if the PSU is older or has a lot of other hardware to supply then that could be it.

power supply is brand new, as is whole computer. i kept some of the old hardware just in case i had problems and needed something to compare with (eg gtx260 video card)

in terms of other hardware running on powersupply this is what is connected...

dvd,
two lg monitors (main display 24" L246WH and LG 23" E2360)
two graphics cards (main gtx260 and second gtx570)

**gtx 260 is installed in the first pci-express x16, and the gtx260 in the bottom one (leaving one card out doesnt seem to make any difference to my crashing issue...it still plays up with only one card installed)

What i dont understand is why the gtx570 performs so poorly on the furmark stress test??? the gtx260 isnt much better but it is better. i should be getting a lot more than 8 or 9 frames per second average on the gtx570.
