Hi All
We appreciate your feedback about decision making and purchasing habits when shopping for a new desktop system based on X58/P67 motherboard. This survey will take about 6 minutes of your time.
You can enter it here (http://event.gigabyte.com/MBPoll2011/UK/Default.aspx).
Your answers will only be used internally at GIGABYTE to aide in the design of future products.

For what its worth Runn3R..... the front panel access for more utility's is handy..... if you have the PC on your desk, but I like most have my tower on the floor....... I have a Firewire and 2 SATA ports pre-built on top that Ive almost worn out...... resorting to back panel cabling tethered onto the top with wire ties

I have got my system on the desktop next to me so the front panel ports are very usefull especially the USB. I don't have USB3 on my case but wish I did. I am always using the USB ports on the front for connecting the camera, Logitech dongle, external drive etc etc.

More ports taken off the back......... switched to the front and top Just Makes sense........Pain in the butt half the time using the back I/O ports.

Yes I mean things that need plugging in and out quite frequently are much easier to do from the front ports even with my system next to me on the desktop.

I agree with all of you re the front needing to have the most of the connections, especially the USB 3 now. It would be nice if motherboard manufacturers would start including a USB 3 adapter like the one that BitFenix has made up (if you can get one from them) (I finally did but it took a month and I don't want to talk about it) ??? Actually in the real world the case makers should be doing that if they haven't upgraded their cases to meet the new demands as it's a no brainer to switch to USB 3 becasue it is so much faster.
It's too bad that the manufacturers of motherboards and cases and anything pertaining to connectivity to the front and back panels of the case can't get together and come up with a new standard based on all the enthusiasts input out there. It really would be great to have a lot more connectivity on the front of the PC instead of having to juggle everything to hook something up to the back panel but then I suppose there are still things that should be in the back such as sound hookups and the like.

Hi WarYur,
Hey, glad to hear that yopu.ve finally received your USB connector from BitFenix. That was a disgusting attempt at customer relations on their part and I can understand why you don't want to discuss it further. I really don't understand companies that treat their customers like that though especially when they are trying to make their mark in the marketplace like that company is at the moment. I know that it wasn't even a one off issue that you had either.
Anyway at least you have the USB3.0 access points now. To be honest I am surprised that there are still so many companies that seem reticent to embrace the new USB3.0 architechture and still use nothing but the old USB2.0 ports.

Well I guess I can be somewhat comforted (sadly) that I am not the only one that has been treated negatively by the owner of bitfenix. On that UK forum I was telling you about there are now even more people having the exact same experience with him and the company in general which is really unfortunate because they do have some great products. The USB 3 adapter is a real "portsaver"... ;D and makes a heck of a lot more sense than the kit that Corsair is selling to the owners of the 800D full tower case.
Sorry, didn't mean to change this threads subject matter. I did go and fill out the survey BTW...

It is unfortunate that the manufacturers of motherboards and boxes and everything about the connectivity of the front and back of the box can not meet and find a new standard on the basis of all lovers of market entry.
