Title: 990FXA-UD3 rev 1.0 no support for VISHERA CPU
Post by: OCK on October 24, 2012, 03:21:51 pm
what's the difference for rev 1.0 and 1.1 ? why 1.1 rev. have support for new vishera cpu and 1.0 rev. haven't it?

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3894 --------- rev 1.0 support
http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3996 --------- rev 1.1 support

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/comparison/list.aspx?ck=2&pids=3894,3996 ----------- comparative

this is technical service answer to my question:

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. The CPU you want to use is not on the list, we do not recommend you using the CPU with your GIGABYTE motherboard to avoid unexpected system problem or hardware damage.

Hi

Maybe it's me but they both seem to support the chip. Both the 1.0 and 1.1 revisions support the Vishera CPU from BIOS F9 onwards.  :-\
