Hello everyone!
I'd like to start off by saying Windows works fine so my issue is not hardware fault related. So my motherboard (970A-UD3P rev1.0) won't let me install any Linux distro. I've literally tried at least 5 different distros (Ubuntu, Arch, Solus, Fedora, Debian, Antergos, Manjaro, etc.) and all of the had the same hanging issues. By hanging I mean the computer hard freezes after a few minutes of use and I need to reset the whole system.
My setup consists of a FX-6300 (running at default clock speed), a GTX 660 and four gigs of kingston memory.
Has anyone suffered/is suffering from the same issues? If so, have you found a resolution? Thank you in advance!

Aaaaaand this is why I'm never going to buy a gigabyte product again. f*** you, gigabyte.

Maybe a Kernel issue, a lot of the VIA USB controllers don't work well.
Try disabling the VIA USB controller.
The hang, if you were to have a video playing from YouTube does it stop or continue?

And yes, I found that if I have a video playing from youtube, the hang happens sooner.

In your BIOS look under the peripherals section.
USB3.0 Controller (VIA® VL805 USB Controller) = Disabled.
Note when you do this all the USB3.0 ports will stop working but for testing purposes give it a go.
Do you also happen to use a AIO water cooler?
Some of these require software to control the pump, eg, NZXT Kraken X62.
With another PC I have it can over heat in any Linux OS as the Pump is not being controlled.
