Title: X99 Gaming 5 sound proplem

Sometimes when I start up the computer, there is no sound card at all, can happen with certain BIOS after updating, even though it is on in the bios, can not even install the drivers for the lack of hardware in windows, im on the latest F7 from the website now, did just intall windows 8,1 and all drivers a secont time now and i workt for 2 days and now no sound card , flipt the CAP_SW to x6 and rebbotet and there was a sound card in windows after boot , didnt have these problem befor all the f7 beta bios tried all of them f7h and f7m workted fine

That is what happens sometimes with a Beta bios. You fix one thing and you can have problems with something else. A Beta bios is there if the others can't fix something. That would be the last thing to try.

Now the thing is were you having any problems before the update? If you were not having problems go back to the bios that you were using.

Sounds to me like it could be a problematic sound device on the board, it should detect each and every time, go for replacement.

it has woked fine for some weeks no on x6 boost so i leave it there , will replace it if it starts again a think . tanx for the help
