Hi!
I need to buy a socket 1155 mobo that supports the Intel VT-x/VT-d technologies.
Does the GA-P61-USB3-B3 supports it?
Many thanks!

Hi miguelpra,
Welcome to forum
The GA-Q67M-D2H-B3 With Bios F5 have a parameter for VT-D. In Chipset Sub-Section Bios.
Otherwise you have :
GA-Q67M-D2H-B3
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3824#ov
In manual page 25, I see :
Intel IGD SWSCI OpRegion
DVMT Mode Select
Selects DVMT Mode used by Internal Graphics Device.
DVMT/FIXED Memory
Selects DVMT/FIXED Mode Memory size used by Internal Graphics Device.
Intel TXT(LT) Configuration
Intel TXT support only can be enabled/disabled if SMX is enabled. VT and VT-d Support must also be enabled prior to TXT.
I don't view setting for SMX (But Support must also be enabled prior to VT and VT-d)
What means SMX? (Safer Mode Extensions, i thiks)
VT and VT-d (Support must also be enabled prior to TXT).
And this mobo have a LAN Intel 82579 chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)
So the most important, is decide what you want make whit is moterboard?
What is the software you want use?

Hi Gloup_Gloup!
Thanks a lot for the answer.
I just want to deploy a low cost ESXi host (maybe with a Pentium G series processor - which only supports VT-x -, or a better one that also supports VT-d), so I'm quite impressed with the GA-P61-USB3-B3 motherboard.
Checking the mobo's manual, I can find the steps of how to enable the "Intel Virtualization Technology" (page 40), but I can't find any other reference to the mobo's virtualization capabilities.
What virtualization technologies does the GA-P61-USB3-B3 support?
VT-x and VT-d? VT-x only? None of them?
Thanks,

Hi miguelpra, ;)
IntelĀ® H61 Express Chipset
http://ark.intel.com/products/chipsets/52773
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/mainstream-chipsets/h61-express-chipset.html
About Intel VT-x
==========
Many mobo have this parameter. Not a problem.
About Intel VT-D
==========
This is a parameter very difficult to have.
You ensure CPU, Chipset, motherboard and Bios have a capacity, ability to support VT-D.
For the GA-P61-USB3-B3 ... this is not possible.
I again refer witht this link (for more infos about VT-D support):

Hi everyone!
I also made this question to the Gigabyte Tech Services, and today they replied me. That's the answer:
Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. About the issue you mentioned, GA-P61-USB3-B3 support VT-D and VT-X function.
Kindly note: this function is present only when you install a CPU that supports this feature. For more information about Intel CPUs' unique features, please visit Intel's website.
Hope it helps.
