Title: GA P43 S3L Dead after failed flash using @bios trying to update to 9c
Post by: FJCM on June 16, 2011, 10:15:02 am
No Beep and no POST. Cleared CMOS (both by bridge and by removing battery) with no result.Dual Bios doesn´t even try to work...
Bought two years ago, but I can´t find SN to see if it is still under guarantee.
I´ve searched this forum but nothing I have found seems useful.
Can somebody help me? I´m in Spain and the shop where I bought it has since closed, so no way i can return to them, and Gigabyte Spanish site doesn´t seem to have any contact adress...Thanks in advance

Hi

I don't know how many times we have told people not to use @BIOS to flash their systems because of the dangers involved and the good possibility of bricking their boards but I think people think we are joking.

Try this next:

You can kick in the backup BIOS by shutting down the PSU from the wall, then hold down your case power button in and then turn on the power supply button, a few seconds later the board will start, shut off the power supply then.   Then you can turn on the power supply again and power up the board normally and DualBIOS will kick in.

Yep, you´re right about @bios, it s...s . I wish the box and the handbook would have had written in big red glittering caps : "Do not try this at home"... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well, I´ve done my best with the switches: Cleared CMOS for an hour or more and then tryed the switchtrick but nothing happens exept for the very nice MoBo leds flashing. No BEEP, no POST, no nothing... ???
Can I try anything else?
Thanks for your help

It depends on what type of BIOS chips are on your board. If they are the 8 pin versions please let me know. The way I showed you should work though, even if it takes a few tries.

Same thing just differently put if it helps.

1. Turn off PSU from wall
2. Hold case power button in and turn on at wall.
3. As soon as board shows signs of life turn off at wall.
4. Turn on at wall again and press power button.

I spent several hours last afternoon but none of both methods worked...
They are 8 pin chips, by the  way, both M-bios and B-bios...What´s next? Which pins should I short?

Nothing worked, this is just to confirm my Mainboard is dead. :'(
Next step, buying a new one. Thanks Darkmantis for your support.

Well I am indeed sorry to hear that but sometimes there just is nothing that we can do. Good luck for the future.  ;)
