Hi everyone!
I just found a great price on this motherboard and wanted to ask for advice and suggestions before buying one.
This is the model number:
GIGABYTE GA-790XT-USB3
Any and all info, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Soar

Hi Soar,
I don't have any hands on with this motherboard so can't say too much about it. There doesn't seem to be too many posts on the forum of issues though, like all boards, there have been one or two. IN fact a quick search only shows 4 posts with regard to this board and only one of them was a problem with a missing CPU retention Cradle.
Reading through the spec sheets it seems to have the bases pretty well covered and, I would imagine, it is as solid as all the other Gigabyte AMD Boards I have come across.
In the UK this board retails for around £70.
Hope this helps.

Absic,
Thanks for the info. I am not sure how much L70 is in US Dollars. Can you help me understand the exchange rate please?
Here in the USA, the company selling this board is saying it retails for $149, yet they are selling it for only $69. It appears to be a great deal.
I was thinking of using it for one of my other AMD chips [X250 or a 965].
Not sure about this specific MB though, and that is why I am asking questions...
Thanks,
Soar

Hi Soar,
£70 = $112 when I looked it up this morning. So on the face of it, it does look an extremely good deal.
Having gone through the spec sheet again http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3295&dl=1#ov it seems to me, to be a mid range workhorse. It doesn't have SATA3 capabilities but it does have USB3 so maybe this is one of the reasons you can get hold of it so cheap.
It will also handle all of the AM3 CPU's currently available so it does seem to be a good buy. If you like, you can get two and send one to me, I won't object!

At that price why stop at 2 get a container load. Screw Intel I'm coming over to your side ;D

Now DM, that's a bit presumptuous. What makes you think we want you over here?

LOL! Hmmmmm...you are very thought provoking Absic!
I will definitely consider it!
Whoops...EDIT: I waited a few days and when I just now went back to their site, they returned the price to $124. Auuuuuggghhhhh! I snooze, and I looze....
I must act swifter next time.
Now I wish I had purchased a few dozen...they would have been good money makers on Ebay and maybe I could have sent you one!

DM,
I have to admit, that thought did cross my mind [a container load]!
And if it wasn't so expensive, I just might send you one too!
