Title: 880GA-UD3H rev2.2 Motherboard Fan Control

Hi,

i was wondering how can i control fans rpm. Right now they are at full throttle like 3000 rpm and it is like a jet engine. If i stop the fans everything is nice and quiet. I think that if the fans would run on 50% like 1500 rpm it would be ok.

 Can i do it in BIOS or has Gigabyte a program for it or a third party program. Right now this loud noise is unacceptable because this is my HTPC and i can't watch movies like this :)

Hi

There are utilities that Gigabyte bundle with the motherboard that can help with the fan speeds but personally I am not in favour of these added extras. My advice would be to get a fan speed controller and use that to control the speed of each fan also they usually give you a readout of the temperatures at each location.

Hi there,

There is no way of actually controlling the Fan speeds from BIOS or via EasyTune6 or other software apps. This particular question has come up across platforms and was originally answered here: : http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,3486.msg28160.html#msg28160

Information from Gigabyte is: Fans should change RPM depending to the CPU and System temp. Please mind not all the fans behave the same while treated with different voltage etc.

As DM Says, if you want to control the speed of the fans manually you are better off investing in a fan controller to do so.
