Title: S1080 WiFi Performance
Post by: Ray! on September 09, 2012, 05:35:58 am
If there's one thing that I do find lacklustre with the S1080, it's the WiFi performance, or lack of. My wirelsss modem, a Billion 7800N, is posiitoned in our house so that my wife can accees internet wirelessly through her laptop and I get connection using ethernet over powerline to my PC in my study.

However, there is no way that I can get wireless access on the S1080 in that part of the house, and the distance is not that great, as the signal strength doesn't seem to be enough. Yet when I try my Fujitsu P1610 notebook, while the signal strength is low, it's still able to grab a wireless connection and download effortlessly from the same location.

I'm not sure whether it's simply the WiFi module in the S1080 or the antenna that's not sufficient to pull in a stronger signal. How do others find this aspect of the S1080?

It's certainly not as good as others and can certainly do with an improvement, but it's satisfactory for me.
