Just bought one to replace my ASUS EEE PC 1000h and was wondering did I make a mistake.
I was wonder how the sound is on the Gigabyte T series Netbooks and in genral the Gigabyte T1005M, I don't want AWSEOME sound just enough loudness and bass to play Audio Podcasts, and I guess to enjoy video files, will not be using it for music much at all really.
Can any one comment about the sound on the T series please. T1000P ,T1000X ,T1005M.
I know they have Realtek sound chipsets and Stereo 1.5 watt speakers and that combo sounds good, but doe sit really ?
Thanks.
/PS I guess I am one of you now :)

Yes I guess you are ;) and welcome to our little club.
Please don't multi post though as it can be quite annoying.

Will be one of you if it's any good, I bought a Lenovo S10-3t before this and that was Ok but the sound of that was tiny crap, and could not use it for my intended use for Itunes podcasts, the sound was so BAD :(
The rest was fine though.
Hopfully the sound on this one will be better with the realtek chipset and 1.5 watt speakers, I am not asking much to be better than he 3T :)
I have to wait till the 14th before they get any stock in where I am buying it from, this makes me sad, and then they have to send it so sometime about 17th,18th or 19th :(
I hope they get some stock in before then, ne wants my nets book.
Might look elsewhere and see if I can get it ealier.

I know the feeling. It's like waiting for Christmas Day when you are a kiddie. ;)

I wish they made the T1005M in ALL BLACK and slimmed it down a bit, its looks chucky even to my 4 year old ASUS 1000H.
I guess I can dismantle and spray paint the keyboard area, I hope the gold is not too distracting when watching videos.

That's what I like to hear, someone not scared of a bit of customisation. 8) 8) 8)

Customisation.
Doesn't that void the warranty?
-
Iam not scared at all, but not very taleneted, I kille dmy S10 3t, my 1000H has survived a few take downs, I put a copper shim on the CPu to try to help cooling and it's still there, don't think it helped any and was not really nessary either :)
I just like to tinker.

What warranty ????
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
That's the bit of paper that says the item you have bought will last for X amount of months or they will replace/repair it.
Of course, if this is an electrical item it will always break down 1 day after this initial warranty period has just passed!! ::)
-
OH THAT.
Yeah pretty sure ripping opeing your netbook and messing arround with it's inards would void the warranty, not sure about a spray paint though, probably give them the idea to make the next model black :)
Black would look Awsome on it, better that the crappy GOLD, YUKS, but bareable, At least its not white :0

Just don't let Jannie get hold of one. He'll spray it tartan! ;D
-
Maybe a spray paint might be avoided, maybe some of that sticky plastic contact stuff school kids stick on their books will do, just got to cut it precise and plunk at least on one peice on the top and bottom, and if you make it look nice, I think it could just work.
I think they sell them in tartan :)
Out.
Probably could make a black leather case for it as well, that could look good :)

You've been watching too much Blue Peter ;D .....and here's one I made earlier!
-
Blue Peter......... Didn't he get arrested? ??? :D
(For those not from the UK, Blue Peter is a long running BBC Children's Television Programme where the use of double sided sticky tape, sticky back plastic rubber based glue et al. in making things, have delighted generations of school kids.)
-
Why is he blue ?
-
Actualy the "Blue Peter" is the name of a flag that ships flew when they were about to leave port. It is a white square on a blue background.
Here endeth the history lesson. ;)
