Post by: stewwmann on May 10, 2011, 08:57:05 pm
Is it worth the extcra cost to go from what I have (see sig) or not? I was looking at these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145312

Hi there,

I guess it really depends on what you want to do with your PC. If you are into to heavy recoding of audio, transcoding video or something like that I would say that the more RAM the better.

If you're not doing any of these things on a daily basis then I would say it is probably better to save your money.

Not only that but you woulkd have to ditch your current memory to install any new sticks so as absic said unless you really need it stick with what you've got. 8Gb is plenty for normal use and playing games etc.

For gaming that 8GB is plenty and you wouldn't see any performance increase in increasing it. Spend your money on a SSD or something. ;)
