Title: Gigabyte ga-h55-ud3h Ram problem

I have a problem with my new Ram on motherboard Gigabyte ga-h55-ud3h
model of Ram kingston KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX--2x4gb
I have currently 2x2gb
If I fitted new ram, Bios show me as I have 8gb 1600mhz, but windows is no starting, just show in progress

What OS are you running 32 or 64? If you have the windows disk. You might have to boot up on that and do a repair.

its wind 7 64 , I dont have a bbot disk with windows but I try boot ubuntu but also cant

That memory is 1.65v. You board supports 1.5v. Its not on the QVL for your board.

SPD 1333Mhz @1.5v
Ram runs at 1600Mhz @1.65v if XMP is enabled

So XMP might be bumping up voltage to 1.65.

Try disabling XMP profile. RAM should run at 1333Mhz

VRM sends correct voltage to CPU

Your processor is either

Lynnfield (max VID range) 0.6500V-1.4000V
Clarkdale (max VID range) 0.6500V-1.4000V

See if you can boot with mem running @1333Mhz

May not be voltage related, but instead a timing issue.

Curious to hear the results

Bios recognises the memory fine 8gb at 1600 and the voltage at 1.65v but as soon as I try to boot into Ubuntu or the Ubuntu memtest it immediately causes a reboot. This is with XMP enabled or disabled. It won't even boot into the Bios if I try the modules one at a time. Is this memory compatible with this board or is it faulty?

I'm currently using Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G which is two 2g sticks and that works fine.

Please note that although the GA-H55-UD3H is not currently in our list of supported systems, we used to support this model with our memory previously.

Support for this system was discontinued in 2013.

The reason for the discontinuation was the transition to a new type of memory technology.

It appears as though the system, which was released in 2010, is unable to support this newer technology.

The memory used by the GA-H55-UD3H has a 2Gbit chip density - the current chip density is 4Gbit and the Intel H55 Chipset is not capable of using this technology.

Due to the lack of components to build compatible memory modules, the latest revisions of the KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX has been build based on a 4Gbit chip density.

Therefore we were no longer able to support this system as all current memory modules had been updated to the new type.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide you with a compatible upgrade solution, therefore we recommend that you return the product to your supplier.

Should you encounter any difficulties in returning the part to your supplier, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can look into the possibility of providing an alternative solution.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
