Title: 890GPA - UD3H v1.0, AMD Bulldozer support through BIOS, when?
Post by: mag357 on December 15, 2011, 01:36:29 am
Hi everyone!  I´m an user of the 890GPA UD3H v1.0 ... this mobo has the AMD 890 + SB 850 combination...that (according to other manufacturers) supports the last AMD FX (bulldozer).
The thing is, I´ve been an user of Gigabyte mothers since ´90s, I always choose Gigabyte cause the excellent support and features...so When I bought the 890 I expected that...As a matter of fact, recently gigabyte opened a tech support office here in Argentina...so there a lot of folks here choosing gigabyte instead of other brands

The problem is that since I like to stay informed I started to read that the competitors started  to give support on products with AMD 890 + SB850 combination for AM3+ CPUs, through BIOS updates

Here you have some examples

MSI

Asus

ECS

So well, as you can imagine, my question is...Will Gigabyte provide support like that to, for example, the 890GPA mother versions (the ones that doesn´t have the black socket) ?

Thanks so much to take the time to read this

If it doesnt at the present time have a black sockett there is no current plans to offer bulldozier support. That being said if in the future they decide to then im sure you will find the bios on the bios download page when released

I see, and I hope that...since the competitors, and even low budget mothers like the ECS offers better support...Well at least I hope some tech employee or marketing from Giga can see this and offer an statement or something...

thx!
