Title: How to boot priority on GA-Z170-HD3 DDR3 bios
Post by: scopio on July 17, 2023, 06:45:10 pm
I have a problem with my  GA-Z170-HD3 DDR3 motherboard BIOS that I don't know how to change the priority Boot option to DVD ROM as first option and SSD as second option.
Other problem now is that I have cloned a small SSD to a larger SSD and now the pc does not boot into Windows either with the original SSD on the new SSD.

Any help will be appreciated.

Boot option to DVD ROM as first option and SSD

You have to have a windows 10 disk in the DVD Rom. That way the Bios will see it and then you can have it boot to the UEFI DVD Rom.

When you go into the bios in boot option 1 do see the Windows Boot Manager. Plus try unplugging the original SSD.

When you clone the SSD did it ask you to make the new Bootable? Plus was the original SSD setup to boot with UEFI?

Greetings,
If you cloned a disk and did not remove the source disk you imaged from, you have 2 C: drives as far as windows is concerned.  It won't know which drive to boot from.

This is a common error when cloning.  Start by removing power to the source disk temporarily.
