Title: Unknown device in device manager...what is it?
Post by: todesto on May 29, 2012, 02:02:53 am
got a GA-Z77-DS3H and installed fresh copy of Windows 7, ran set up with Gigabyte Drive DVD disc that came with board and it seems to detect and install everything on the board except one. In device manager, there is one unknown device and seems to related to ACPI but can't figure out what it is.

How can I resolve this?  Let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You have several possbilities, ranging from easiest to hardest:

Easiest: Use a driver updater program like Driver Genius or Driver Magician
Middle: Use AIDA64 and find the device and try to find the driver manually
Hardest: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-find-unknown-device-drivers-by-their-vendor-device-id/

Hi

More often than not if there is an unknown device showing in Device Manager it is a USB hub or something similar.
