Good morning all,
I have been having problems with my T2225n and the Tech support people have told me to email Gigabyte DE for an RMA. Can any one tell me if this is the correct procedure, or do I have to do this through Gigabyte UK.

Correct.
UK RMA does not service notebooks that's why you have been informed to contact RMA in Germany.
