Title: GTX 470 SOC fan speed problems
Post by: Wulfgar on March 28, 2011, 02:14:39 am
What's the maximum fan rpm for the GTX 470 SOC ?

I'm using MSI Afterburner to set the fan speed and there's no difference between 90% and 100%...

The maximum rpm it can achieve is 3000. Also, the fan rattles slightly as if it was out of balance. I wanna know if this is normal or if it's a good reason to RMA.

Hi

Have you checked to see if you have the latest version of the drivers installed ?

If so what about the firmware on the card. It would be worth seeing if there is a later version.

I have version 266.58 WHQL, latest drivers from the Nvidia website.

I didn't change the firmware or anything.

I would say that if the fan is rattling it is probably faulty as although noisy at speed  they shouldn't rattle.
