Welcome Cloak
Have you tried mucking around swapping it to different ports...USB2......USB3 ?

Thanks for the welcome
Yeah have tried swapping to different ports USB2 and USB3 still the same guess i have to live with it for now and just leave it unplugged each time or just leave it til i resolve the issue.Mouse has onboard memory flash to store profiles that maybe a possible issue with steelseries
-
can you turn off the feature as in it sounds like it's uploading the multiple profiles to memory every time you boot
Have you tried ......uninstall mouse driver...........delete mouse driver backup set.........reboot and let it load with generic drivers

Also make sure that you have it connected to the rear panel USB ports only with no hub.
Does the boot delay happen with a different USB mouse attached instead ?

Well change of plans broke me steelseries mouse trying to downgrade to upgrade my mouse now on me razer deathadder works perfect ;)
-
So it was just the mouse then. I am glad to hear that your new Razer Deathadder works fine though. As a matter of interest what do you think of it as I have considered purchasing one ?
-
Cant get on with the deathadder it arches the hand like my mouse to be flatter going for the Razer Lachesis had it before suits my style and is a lot flatter
-
Well thanks for your insight into the Deathadder. It does have to feel right as well as work well doesn't it ?
