Post by: Etype on June 16, 2020, 07:11:58 pm
Just built a PC and will not boot. After start screen it goes to a black screen that says "Detecting Array", when I only have 1 HDD. Using the old IDE. SYSTEM: Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-m68m-s2p
CPU is AMD Athlon II,Bus speed: 667 mhz,voltage: 0.925 - 1.425
RAM is DDR2 1066 MHZ, 2 GB sticks
Onboard video card is NVIDIA GeForce 7025,NVIDIA nforce 630 a GPU
HDD: WD 320 GB IDE
Can someone help?

Greetings,

See page 40 of your manual:

Suggest you disable SATA RAID Config, NV SATA RAAID [Disable]

Save and retest.

Did that already. Is there anything else short of buying another motherboard?

I'll take a quick peek at your manual again.  It would appear that RAID is enabled somewhere if the BIOS or legacy utility is looking for disk members.

Are you sure you don't have RAID enabled somewhere?

It's an 11 yr old board and not BIOS since 2013.  Not sure how much time you want to spend on this.

Nv SATA Raid function;
 Nv SATA 1 Primary;
Nv SATA 1 Secondary;
Nv SATA 2 Primary;
Nv SATA 2 Secondary all are disabled. If there is a way to make it work that is what I'm looking for. If not I'm ready to move on.
