Hello all,
I've recently purchased a GA-H77N-WIFI and I'm very pleased with it.
I've been trying to use wake on lan with it but I can't seem to find a way to activate it. There's only one option that seems to be related, it's the ErP mode. I have set it to "disable" as it seems it forbids Wake on Lan when enabled.
Problem is, there use to be options like "PME event wake up" in previous bios, but I can't seem to find any option under the new bios layout...
Is the option gone? How can I reactivate it?
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Hi iditude,
did you finally get WOL working? I'm having the exact same issue here.
Any help is appreciated.
Cheers

HI,
I'm also interested in finding the answer to this? has anyone had any luck?
Thanks,
Daniel.

Nope, no solution so far.
I've even tried the latest Bios update (F3c) released after my first message, but it seems it only adds support for Win8. No wol options found yet.
Gigabyte devs, if you're reading this, please help!
Thanks

I've additionally filed a ticket to gigabyte support - no response so far :(

Bad news: I've got a response from gigabyte support. They told me that the GA-H77N-WIFI does NOT support WOL.
following the original response (german):
Sehr geehrter Herr ***,

Ouch... That's really bad news... I've actually bought this particular motherboard for wol capabilities (as mentioned in the user manual page 49)...
Hope the situation evolves...

I had the luck that the shop where I've got the board from, took it back even 3 weeks after purchase.
So in the meantime i'v got the Asrock H77M ITX. This board lacks some functionality (no wifi, no bluetooth) but i can confirm that WOL is working.
cheers

Disappointing to hear that WOL is not support on the GA-H77N-WIFI. I have 2 GA-H77N-WIFI motherboards. I was going to purchase more but not now.
Is there any chance WOL could be added in a future BIOS update?
Thanks, PLA

I bought the GA-Z77N-WIFI and has the same problem.
I am very disappointed by this issue.
I'm waiting for feedback from Gigabyte.
Has anyone found a work-around?
-
I'm really surprised by the negative feedback of a brand such as Gigabyte.
They have officially stated that these motherboards do not support WOL.
The WOL is expected only in version 1.01. But you can not ask for warranty replacement.
CONFUSED.
Buy the most trusted brands.

I motherboard with 2 NICs and a $150 price point and it does not have WOL. Major fail in my book. I looked at the Gigibyte site and I did not see them state that it did not support WOL. Maybe it was hidden in some small print?
I guess I should have looked closer but I pretty much assumed all motherboards have WOL.
I built an HTPC and now I cannot wake it up when I want to record a program remotely.

I used a usb-lan adapter and now I can awaken my motherboard by sending the "wol" to adapter usb
A solution worthy of a card of the 90s.
I have no words

So everything works?
If yes, what is the make and model of your usb-lan adpter.
With a web link, please.

The adapter is: AX88772A ASIX USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter
The configuration to be applied is this:
Energy Saver:
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power = YES
Allow this device to wake the computer = YES
Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer = NO
Advanced:
Wake on link chage = Enabled or Disabled
Wake on Magic Packet = Enabled
Wake on pattern match = Disabled
What a shame.
150 euro - 2 inputs LAN + WiFi
and having to buy the LAN adapter to awaken the card.
What a shame

Hi everybodyI
I use this board in my new htpc. With ErP off WOL works without problems from S3 and S5.
Testet with beta BIOS F3C from the homepage.

There is an software workaround for this issue (I successfully applied).
I use this board for a custom NAS, running on CentOS 8.
The wol option can be activated using the linux utility ethtool.
Unfortunately that activation is not permanent, it will reset after next reboot.
Here comes the trick: I have created a simple system service which calls ethtool at the boot time set the wol capabilities for the desired network adapter.
I hope that may help somebody
