Hi,
I couldn't find the information, there is the reason why I'm posting :)
I'm gonna buy the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 and a AMD FX 8350 obviously.
I'm pretty sure the bios has the rev 1.0 that means the FX 8350 won't be recognized by the motherboard and I don' t have or don't know anybody who could lend me another cpu non FX to run the bios update.
The question is :
can I update the bios with a usb stick or any other workaround with the FX 8350 installed on the motherboard ?
Thank you :)

YES. Make your build when you turn it on first time pick the usb as boot drive and updates bios clear DMS and restart when done. I have done that and have had it work great. Works best if you only flash it to about a 3rd version but will still work if you have to jump 5 versions.
Just remember have the usb drive properly formatted and pick it as boot drive the very first time you start. If not i have had it mess a board up because i started it and let it try to post and run. I had to use the back up bios and it took forever it seems like.

Thank you for the answer.
Do you know if the Q-Flash can be used to update the bios at the startup?

Yes, Q-Flash can be loaded by using the END key at sys startup - have the bios file on the usb stick (FAT formatted)
