I've been struggling with this for almost a week. If I boot in cold my FPS are through the roof but soon as I sleep the PC, which I need to be able to do, my framerate goes down and becomes very inconsistent.
I've done everything I can think of to resolve this and I'm beginning to believe the mobo is at fault. Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening?
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
780GTX
4790K @ 4.00GHz
32GB Corsair 1600MHz
Corsair 1000W PSU
This is basically driving me nuts. Something seems to be happening after the wake procedure, or ISN'T, to cause a loss of framerate. Performance everywhere else is absolutely fine - excellent in fact. It's just in gaming.
Do I have a bad board?
Would really appreciate assistance.

What type of hard drive are you using. I would start at video card before I would blame motherboard. It is waking up.

Have you set any options in BIOS for power saving? If so, reset BIOS to defaults or just reset power settings to defaults. Let Windows manage power settings.
Have you checked event logs in Windows for any obvious errors related to resuming from sleep or any other errors?
And as usual, make sure you have the latest drivers and BIOS.
