Title: GA Z170X DESIGNARE not even POST
Post by: dawees on October 22, 2016, 11:34:26 pm
Hello, i have problem to get post, only black screen and codes on debugg display
my new PC build:

Z170X-Designare
i7 6700K
g.skill ripjaws v 16gb ddr4-2666mhz
samsung 500gb 850 evo
sapphire r9 390 8gb (not connected to mobo)

I have not post/BIOS only black screen. I tried mobo with CPU + RAM (only one stick)= code Ab or A6 (detect and install SCSI devices), i think its A6... so i plugged  SSD and now code change to AE (Boot to Legacy OS), SSD is brand new totally empty... i plugged my old hdd with w10 and now code is 7d (reserved for AMI use)... now im stuck i dont know what to do next...   what about creating new windows installation on usb and try with blank ssd ?

It could be memory we have seen a lot of these boards not like some memory. Make sure it support Z170 boards and not X99 boards. Plus make sure the memory is on the approve list too.

Hi) Newbie here. Purchased Z170X Designare. Have problem booting F4-3200C14D-32GTZ memory kit with native XMP profile. The fastest i could get was 3100Mhz 1.36v with manual x31 multi. I'm on F2 stock bios right now, planks in DDR1_2 Slotsm works in dual channel.

Do you, guys, plan to support G. Skill 2x16Gb 3200Mhz+ kits?

Regards

Don't hold your breath for support.  If you were successful getting the non QVL ram to run at 3100Mhz with manual settings you are already a head of the game.  A future BIOS update might help, but you won't see any performance improvements going from 3100>3200 as a result.

True, but i never really look at the QA list) Asus Z170 Pro Gaming boots fine with this kit, it's not on the list as well.

P. S. Tried F20a bios in the earlier post, still no luck, 3100mhz max. But on the bright side the voltage bios sets is correct now 1.356, before it was 1.38 on auto. Some of the second tier timings were corrected as well. I think it's all about bios support and can be done.
