Title: GA-X99-UD5-wifi and Sata Ports
Post by: slarja on December 04, 2014, 12:01:27 am
Just bought this board along with my first SSD drive (SanDisk Ultra II). Does it matter which kind of sata port to connect it to - sSata or sata express? I've got it in the top sata 0 port but notice the bios says it's configured as "eSata". Is this correct?  I have it configured as AHCI. Also I'm still using old HDD's (sata I & II) til I get my data transferred to the new ssd. Does it matter which port these go in, too?  Thanks!

It might not matter but you should start at 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 for any SSD or Hard drives.

I have my two SSD connected 0 & 1. I have 3 WD 10000 rpm drives connected to 2, 3, & 4

I have a DVD & DVD/rw connected to the last 4 that is by the book it is 0 & 1 again. The last four are standard devices.
