Title: USB power is on when its powered down (GA-EP45C-DS3R)
Post by: snorga on September 16, 2009, 06:58:59 pm
Is it posible to get the computer to power off the usb ports when the computer is shutdown?

Im using a usb powerrail to the screen, speakers, printer so they should loss power when i shutdown the computer, but since there is still power on the usb ports, they keep being powered.

The motherboard is GA-EP45C-DS3R.

I have checked bios and manual with out finding any about this.

powering of usb ports while system is soft-off is due to need to power on the system by keyboard for example. i remember it as i had mb which had some usb ports powered while others not. try if it's also in your case

your printer & screen is powered by usb?

I have tested all the usb ports for power while the computed have been powered down, all had power.
Wake on mouse/keyboard have been disabled in bios.

and no, printer and screeen is not powered by usb.
But they are plug into a device (not sure whats it called in english) for power, that have a usb that is connected to the computer, and the device turn off power for all devices connected when no power on usb.
