i have returned my gigabyte ma-770-ds3 to my local store where i bought it , it packed up last week (friday) and i returned it the next day . how long do you think it will take for the store to recieve it back or hear anything ? , it only lasted just under 6 months . does this happen often on this mobo ? , i was in the process on saving for a phenom II 940 but put that on hold lol
-
it all depends on the nature of the fault, but usually it is around 7 working days from the arrival, sometimes quicker, depending on the quantity that UK RMA received with the shipment from your dealer. but looking at the current weather conditions (extreme snowfall) i would not be surprised if it takes longer due to transport delays.
-
thx for the reply , the fault well i am not sure but it just turned it's self off while gaming . all the other components work in my old asrock mobo , so that might give you a little more info lol
-
been to the dealer today and he says that we are still waiting to hear from gigabyte , he also said that there was no delay in sending it due to the weather . i just want my mobo back working :(
-
last Thu and Fri Gigabyte office including RMA was closed due to heavy snowfall. pls be patient it will surely come back to after repair.
-
i will try ;) , but it has been 14 days since i took it to the shop . i hope it returns soon as this asrock mobo i am using as a spare atm sucks lol
-
got it back now :) , it was repaired as a few components had failed . makes me wonder if i should overclock my cpu now seeing as something else might fail
-
it seems to perform worse that it did before the repair , my specs below
athlon 7750BE
4 gb corsair dominator 1066
seasonic 550w psu (80+)
sapphire 4870
vista 32 bit sp1
it now stutters in any game etc and it did not before the repair , advice please

Are you sure nothing else is faulty? Try a new cpu/mobo/psu/gpu/ram if you can, for example try using a friend's pc to test your components are all ok. It may not just be the motherboard.
-
i have 2 spare mobo's , everything else works fine in them . will proberly just buy a new mobo as i need my pc and cannot wait another 2 weeks for the rma
-
one more question , will it effect the warrenty if a mosfet cooler is fitted ? (had 2 blow and they were replaced)
-
I wouldn't think so, as it actually keeps the board cooler rather than damage it in any way. What is it? A fan or heatsink?
-
it's a heatsink like the one below

If the board is modified or damaged somehow during installation/ using / removing of this cooler, the warranty will be void.
-
So it should be fine, as it just fits on the motherboard and can be easily removed without damage or doing anything to the actual motherboard :)
