Title: GA-M720-US3 - Making bios compatible with Phenom II X2 550
Post by: cookie365 on September 12, 2009, 02:22:55 pm
I've just ordered a GA-M720-US3 rev 1.0  and Phenom II X2 550.

The CPU support list says I need BIOS revision F5 to run this processor. If the motherboard I receive has an older BIOS, will it refuse to POST or will it allow me to flash the BIOS from a USB stick?

Thank you

Hi

Your system should boot up OK with older bios, just CPU may not be properly recognized.
Then you will need to update bios by Q-Flash, see the guide here:
