Title: Removing T1028X HDD

Dear Gigabyte Forum,

I have a T0128X which I am going to ""üpgrade"" to  a 64 GB SSD.
After removing the 2 HDD compartment access screws how does the HDD lift out ?
I have tried, gently, to prise it up but it seems to be stuck.

Normally you would have to move the drive backwards first to disengage the connections and then lift to remove it.

The cover lifted OK and the HDD pulled out smoothly with the attached tab. :)

I've had this convertible for nearly 18 months  and am very impressed with its build quality and capabilities but decided I needed a SSD.

I do R&D for a local 450-member computer club in Spain and the first-time replacement of my HDD with a SSD is part of my program.
I also  use this machine to demonstrate touch control and apps using Win 7 and touch-enabled Linux OSes.

You are very welcome Scotty. What part of Spain are you in or is there a clue in the username? I am sure you will be quite impressed with the performance aspect even on a laptop. I tried mine(256GB Corsair Performance) in my laptop before it was sent to reside in my main system and it did make a big difference.

Yes .. there is a clue in my user name, as I live in Javea on the Costa Blanca ... in fact, a retired ex-pat, having spent 35 years in Africa and the Middle East.
The latter part, 25 years, did involve company computerisation .. remember DOS  and Windows 1.0.

Re. your reply ... I do hope to get a significant improvement in operation with the SSD as I think that this is the way forward and I hope that Gigabyte embrace this philosophy.

If I remember correctly there is one big stone at Javea ;D
I used to fly into Alicante quite often and have a fair knowledge of that coast. Mostly south of the city but I used to tour all round the area. I mainly stayed down at La Manga next to the Mar Menor, beautiful area.

Yes I remember DOS and the first incarnation of Windows well. In fact I was sad to see the end of DOS as it was a very powerful tool. Trouble is we're showing our ages here.
